POSTPARTUM SUPPORT
Rest. Recover. Settle into life with your baby.
Bringing your baby home is beautiful, but those first days and weeks can also be exhausting.
Our postpartum doulas step into the everyday needs of your family so you can
rest, recover, get some sleep, and find your footing with your new baby.
Whether you need help for those first nights home, support during the day, overnight care, meal prep, or a combination, we'll help you think through what postpartum support could look like for your family.
Postpartum doula support may be especially helpful for you if:
-
You want to prioritize rest and recovery after birth.
-
You don't have much family or community support nearby.
-
You're recovering from a long or difficult birth or C-section.
-
Your partner has limited time off or will be returning to work soon.
-
You have family helping initially, but know that support won't last forever.
-
You're concerned about sleep deprivation or how you'll manage newborn nights.
-
You expect to come home from the hospital already exhausted and sleep deprived.
-
You've had a difficult postpartum experience before and want this time to feel different.
-
You're a first-time parent and want someone experienced nearby as you learn your baby.
-
You tend to do everything yourself and want to intentionally make room for recovery this time.
-
You're navigating breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and would benefit from experienced support.
-
You simply want your postpartum season to feel more supported, restful, and manageable.
What kind of support do you need?
FIRST NIGHT HOME. Come home to support, not another sleepless night.
By the time many families leave the hospital, they've already spent two or three nights getting very little sleep. You're recovering from birth, learning your baby, figuring out feeding, and suddenly doing it all at home.
Having a postpartum doula there for your first night, or two, home gives you the chance to settle in and get some much-needed rest while an experienced doula helps care for your baby through the night.
Care is generally scheduled for 3rd-4th night after birth | 8-hour shifts | generally 10pm–6am | $350 per shift
DAYTIME SUPPORT. Rest, recover, and have experienced support by your side.
Your doula helps carry the needs of the day so you don't have to do everything while recovering from birth.
That might mean caring for baby while you nap or shower, supporting feeding, preparing something for you to eat, washing bottles or pump parts, folding baby laundry, or simply giving you the space to rest and recover.
Daytime care is generally scheduled 2–3 shifts per week | 4-hour shifts | generally 9am–1pm | $175 per shift
OVERNIGHT SUPPORT. Get the sleep your body needs while knowing your baby is cared for.
Your doula helps with baby throughout the night, including diaper changes, soothing, settling, bottle feeding, or bringing baby to you for breastfeeding and then helping everyone get back to sleep.
Overnight care is generally scheduled 2–3 nights per week, creating consistent opportunities for rest throughout your postpartum recovery | 8-hour shifts | generally 10pm–6am | $350 per shift
MEAL PREP. Let someone else answer, "What are we going to eat?"
Your doula spends a dedicated shift preparing nourishing meals and snacks for your family, helping keep your refrigerator or freezer stocked during the weeks when cooking can feel like one thing too many.
Meal Prep is generally scheduled 1-2 shifts per week | 4-hour shifts | generally 9am–1pm | $175 per shift
HOW MUCH SUPPORT WILL YOU NEED? There isn't one right amount of postpartum care. Think about the support you'll already have, your recovery, older children, your partner's time off, family help, sleep, feeding, and when that outside help may begin to taper off. Postpartum care begins with a three-shift minimum, with most families choosing ongoing support for several weeks. Here are a few starting points:
-
A SUPPORTED START | FIRST WEEK
-
Focused support during the transition home and those earliest days with your baby.
-
-
THE FIRST FEW WEEKS | 3 WEEKS
-
Consistent help through the earliest weeks of recovery while you settle in to a rhythm with your baby.
-
-
A SUPPORTED TRANSITION | 6 WEEKS
-
Ongoing care through the early postpartum season, including the time when partners often return to work and help from family and friends begins to decrease.
-
-
THE FOURTH TRIMESTER | 12 WEEKS
-
Consistent support throughout baby's first three months as recovery, feeding, sleep, and the needs of your family continue to change.
-
WHAT COULD YOUR CARE LOOK LIKE?
Most families choose 2–3 daytime or overnight shifts each week. Your care might look like:
-
Mostly need sleep? First Night Home + 2–3 overnight shifts each week
-
Need help once your partner returns to work? 2–3 daytime shifts each week
-
Want support around the clock without full-time care? A combo of daytime and overnight shifts
-
Have plenty of hands but no one has time to cook? Add a dedicated meal prep shift
NOT SURE WHAT YOU'LL NEED? That's okay.
You don't need to create your postpartum schedule by yourself. When you inquire, we'll ask a few questions about your family, the support you expect to have, and what you're most concerned about after baby arrives.
During your discovery call, we'll help you begin mapping out the kind of care and weekly rhythm that could support you best.
