My experience with Valiant Birth Collective was more than I could have ever imagined! My family and I moved to South Carolina after my last baby and because I had a VBA2C with my last baby (5 years ago), I knew I wanted to do that again with my fourth. I was referred to Valiant Birth Collective by an Ultrasound Tech, and I’m so grateful. As soon as I called to schedule an appointment, Ginelle and I hit it off. She made me felt safe and heard and before I could even make it to my first appointment, she answered any questions I had and offer suggestions for getting certain test ran through the midwives to check hormone and blood levels which led to me catching things early like anemia and low vitamin D levels. I am so grateful! Throughout my pregnancy, she was a quick text or phone call away which made me feel supported. Although this was my fourth baby, every pregnancy and baby is different, so I’m extremely happy that I had someone who was well-versed and educated in pregnancy and the birthing process to call on. During labor and delivery, Ginelle was attentive and despite having to get induced (twice) she was there both times to ensure that I was able to advocate for myself. Her advice, based on all the things we spoke about prior to going in, gave her a game plan on how to help me navigate through medical interventions that could have led me down a path that I wouldn’t have been happy with. Because of her support and experience, I was able to have the birth story I was hoping for. Now, even a month later, Ginelle has been there for me. I truly believe that I have gained a friend. She has checked on me and even offered support when I felt out of practice with breastfeeding. Anyway, if you can’t tell, I 100% recommend Valiant Birth Collective for your next pregnancy and birth. I know that every story is different, but I truly believe you will be more than satisfied with your decision to work with them!

From the day I first met with Ginelle, I felt so much peace. She answered all of my questions (because as a first time mama I had so many), she wasn’t pushy about anything but gave me her honest opinion as well as my options with my birth plan. When I went into labor she was able to help guide me every step of the way. She was my voice at the hospital when I was deep in labor. My husband has said multiple times that he doesn’t know what he would’ve done without her! So very thankful that I chose Valiant Birth Collective!

They showed me incredible care, provided so many resources and helped with labor prep during pregnancy and pain management and ways to progress labor during my birth. When we found out we were expecting our first baby, I knew that I wanted the support of a doula to help my husband and I navigate our hospital birth. I immediately felt a connection with the mission and values of the Valiant Collective and was excited to have them in our corner through this journey. I can only describe working with Kayla as gaining the older sister I never had. I anticipated having support in the delivery room, but did not expect to have someone to truly walk beside me and my husband from first trimester all the way through months into postpartum. Kayla was always there to answer even the silliest of my questions, she encouraged and prayed over our lives outside of pregnancy and birth, she provided me with everything we needed to make informed decisions about prenatal care, and more. Going into birth I felt incredibly confident in my ability to advocate for myself in an environment that isn’t always conducive to individualized care. When our birth didn’t go as we hoped for reasons outside our control, Kayla was a steady source of calm support for us to lean on as we made decisions we didn’t think we’d need to and as we watched our “plans” get thrown out the window. Having Kayla as our doula also allowed my husband to be truly present and less anxious during birth, knowing he had a great teammate to lean on and help him when needed. She helped to make sure meeting our baby boy was a positive experience and the most special day of our lives regardless of what twists and turns birth took - mission accomplished! I couldn’t recommend Kayla and the Valiant team enough to any pregnant woman seeking support - you will not regret it!

Our doula Ginelle made us feel at ease with her incredible depth of knowledge and passion for birth work. She was an amazing advocate for us during our time in the hospital. Working with Ginelle was a dream. I will be eternally grateful for her warmth, reassurance, constant hip squeezes, and gentle verbal reminders that saw me through my second L&D. I fell in love with how organized this group had designed the practice. The binder I received was very a very helpful tool. We had the pleasure of being blessed with Kayla as our doula. she was more than AMAZING through the whole experience. We met several times before my birth, all in preparation for the grand arrival of our little girl. She gave us techniques to use during labor that I really think made labor. tolerable. She supported my husband as well which was one thing that I loved. Kayla advocated for me and kept me calm in the hardest moments. Although I had the perfect birth I experienced complications afterwards and Kayla stuck by my side through it all and we can’t truly put into words how much that meant to us. Such a great group of doulas!

I LOVED Kayla. I really felt a connection with her throughout the entire time she was my doula. As a first time mom who had fears/anxiety, she was there emotionally, physically, and mentally from start to finish. She helped me feel so comfortable and calm in the hospital and made me feel like I could conquer anything/everything. She helped me stand up for myself with the doctors. She showed/told me everything there was to know about going into labor and after delivery. When it was time to push, I felt like it went by so fast. My experience with Valiant Birth was so wonderful! I knew I wanted to have a strong support system for my home birth of my first baby. I immediately knew I made the right choice the first time I met my doula, Kayla. Right off the bat it felt like I was talking with a good friend. She asked me all about my hopes for birth so she knew the best ways to support me and my husband through it. Her calm presence and support during birth helped me when things started to go differently than I had planned. Beyond being a wonderful addition to my birth team, she is incredibly knowledgeable and provided me with many resources prior to and after birth that helped me feel more confident and ready for birth and postpartum. And the postpartum check-ins helped tremendously during a time when everything is so new. I truly cannot recommend Valiant Birth enough!

As a first time mom I didn’t know what I needed or where to start for my pregnancy care I decided to go the less traditional route and go through a midwifery instead of the hospital. I was strongly encouraged to have a doula and given Valiant's card. I spoke with Ginelle she worked around my schedule to meet with me and my husband and from the first visit I knew we were in good hands. Ginelle helped walk us through the birth and after birth process step by step. My goal was a vaginal birth but she made sure to inform me on every possibility. I ended up having to transfer to the hospital and have a csection and Ginelle was there for everything. She was amazing support through my labor by reminding me to snack and hydrate for energy and providing counter pressure and techniques to get through contractions. I dont think I would have had as good as an experience or had as much confidence to make well informed decisions as I did without her support.
